Community engagement
Physics isn't just found on-campus, we engage and collaborate with local communities across a broad spectrum: from science, literary and music festivals, to research in cultural astronomy, renewable energy and at the intersection of art and science. We're even searching for dark matter deep in a Victorian gold mine. Find out the latest news.
Physics is fundamental to understanding the world around us. It is a subject that should be enjoyed and discovered by all. Through our historical collections and annual public events, we are committed to providing access to our latest research and discoveries and sharing our scientific curiosity with the community.

Bringing together physicists to tackle current topics, these free public lectures have been engaging audiences since 1968. From the expanses of the universe to the smallest particles fundamental to life as we know it – the lectures share perspectives, research and discoveries, while cultivating an ongoing fascination with all things physics.
