Oe-4 Total Internal Reflection
Aim
To demonstrate that an angle greater than the critical angle, of an incoming beam will be totally internally reflected, instead of being refracted.
Apparatus
- Semi-circular Perspex Disc
- Pasco Basic Light Source
- Pasco Basic Optics Ray Table
Total Internal Reflection Apparatus.
Description
The apparatus is set-up as above. The light source is set-up so that the light beam is direction along the 0˚-180˚ line on the Optics Ray Table. The Optics Ray Table is rotated until the critical angle is found.
