Rogowski Coil
Description
Rogowski's coil consists of a coil wound on a flexible core. The winding starts at the middle, is wound towards the ends and return leads are brought back towards the middle where the ends are terminated. Direct measurements of magnetic potential can be made by connecting the coil to a ballistic galvanometer for DC currents or to a C.R.O. for ac signals. Ampere's Law may be directly shown by wrapping the coil around a current carrying conductor and the induced voltage compared in the following cases.
- coil threads current once
- coil threads current twice.
- coil does not thread current
