ARC nodes for the School of Physics

The School of Physics will host key nodes in three ARC Centres of Excellence (CoE) following the latest funding announcement in early September. The CoE for All-Sky Astrophysics in 3-Dimensions continues the important work of the existing CoE for All-Sky Astrophysics while new Centres of Excellence in Gravitational Wave Discovery and Quantum Computing and Communication Technology will ensure the School is at the leading edge of research into these burgeoning fields.

The successful CoE bids and University of Melbourne node leaders are:

  • CoE for All-Sky Astrophysics in 3-Dimensions – Stuart Wyithe, Rachel Webster and Michele Trenti (Physics)
  • CoE for Gravitational Wave Discovery - Andrew Melatos (Physics)
  • CoE for Quantum Computing and Communication Technology – Lloyd Hollenberg and David Jamieson (Physics)
