Continuous Gravitational Waves from Rapidly-Rotating Neutron Stars

Rapidly-rotating neutron stars are a potential source of continuous gravitational waves. I will outline the prospects for detecting such sources using the LIGO and Virgo gravitational-wave detectors, the searches that have been conducted to date, and the significant data analysis challenges that are involved.
